What happens when you run it? Can you run the sqlcmd step manually at a command prompt and see what happens?

comment SQL2008 - Change Data Capture
Agreed on your gotcha...our one gotcha so far is restoring databases with CDC enabled requires an extra parameter if sa doesn't own it. That and watching space used on those change tables.

comment How can I visualize hard disk space with millions of files?
Can you post more info on what you need? Largest files? Largest directories? Do you need date/time info? Is it a one-time need, or recurring?

comment windows server 2008 100% CPU
Actually you can save a step, right click the suspect process in the Processes tab and there should be an option for Go to Services; you'll wind up there with the matching service(s) highlighted.

comment What's causing CPU utilization 100% during night time
What are you using to gauge the cpu utilization? If it's perfmon on the virtual, the issue may be on the host. What vm environment?

comment Error when trying to open SQL Maintenance Plan - SSMS 2008
if you have the database server installed locally, connect to it and do select @@version; if you only have the client tools, run Management Studio and do Help / About, check the version there against the server's copy. I'll bet it's lower.

except you can't trace with profiler after the fact, you have to have it running when the error happens.

Also remember trees have a habit of growing, it may work within tolerance now, but next year....or when the wind blows....or when that horde of locusts lands in the tree..
