comment How to perform a clean Install of Windows XP SP3 or Windows 7 SP1 in an environment full of virus?
Reinstall the other machines now, at the very least disconnect them from the internet to prevent them from spreading their "disease". Installing WinXP as an operating system without any form of security fixes isn't even an option, IMHO.

Why would you want to connect with SSH to the MySQL port? That doesn't make any sense.

Why do you need your own DNS server for a single VPS? And how do you get a redundant one anyway?

comment Degraded partition in RAID5 system
@Ashigore: You disagree with what? Your first sentence states the same stuff I said. The second part is flat out wrong - having two (or more disks) running in an incomplete RAID5 will not alter the risk of another disk failure when compared to the same number of disks in a non-RAID scenario with similar access patterns. However, the impact of a second disk failure in a RAID5 is more severe then with standalone disks and during recovery, the risk of a failure is also higher due to the high work load, but that can't be avoided.

So, you know it's off-topic here, but you thought "Oh, I don't care, let's annoy people and ask anyway". Good approach to ask for help. Not.

If you don't have a net connection, then why do you need a mail server? And wouldn't Postfix as the default mailer on RHEL be a better choice anyway? This (and sendmail) definitely are in the stock repos.

@DennisKaarsemaker: It's not in the CentOS repos, so I guess this is true for RHEL as well. But EPEL exists ...

If you would read and understand the error messages it would be clear that you are still missing packages. What you want however is to do is to add the EPEL repo and then do yum install exim (because I was wrong, Exim is only in EPEL, not in the distro repos).

This error is demonstrating you that you are in way over your head and are not qualified to install a piece of software from source. That is why package repositories where invented.

Why do you post this again? serverfault.com/questions/637425/exim-4-80-1-osrhel-6. Just use the package that is available in the repo (it is available!).

At the very least, you are missing pcre-devel. Why are you doing this instead of installing a package from a repo?

comment Moving several desktops from /etc/passwd to LDAP
It might work, but I think you are better of with changing UIDs and file ownwership afterwards. It's easy to do with find and you stay in a position where you can just turn off LDAP again if problems appear.

So, are you saying that this issue is caused by an outdated or missing scl-utils package? If yes, please make this more clear.
