comment ssh git commands authenticating with authorized_keys
I just checked, and it is -rw-rw-r-- 1 git git 2135 Nov 14 10:27 /home/git/.ssh/authorized_keys that I am modifying, and there is no authorized_keys2.

comment ssh git commands authenticating with authorized_keys
This is very useful breakdown of the commands. It does not solve my problem. I do need the git user to have key based authentication, to allow git clone git@server.com/user/repo.git. For the sake of troubleshooting, I tried replacing all the lines in authorized_keys with only the part from ssh-rsa ... etc... and it still does not work.

comment ssh git commands authenticating with authorized_keys
I checked the authorized_keys file for the git user, and found the key was defined with a command prefix command="/opt/bitnami/apps/gitlab/gitlab-shell/bin/gitlab-shell key-3",no-port-forwarding,no-X11-forwarding,no-agent-forwarding,no-pty ssh-rsa AAAAB3...MORE_RSA_KEY_DATA...5sxG8Q== billy@redrockrim.org. I then added my key by hand, and tried removing all other keys, so can confirm the keys match my local machine keys.

I can not get network access to update from NTP server. I am not sure if guest additions is running. I am fairly sure it was installed. The VM has been provided to me at my job.

comment How to configure second router so that both have access to all resouces
Also, if you remove the ADSL box from the equation, I still can't get the second router to recognize the Server. I think if I solve that issue, the rest will fall into place, as that is how it was working before.

I can not configure the ADSL router - that is done by external telecoms company I can not communicate with. Is there any way for me to detect the settings they have used?

comment Deciding to use VM or native install for new hardware
Thanks for your feedback. I am very much a command line kind of guy, and try to avoid using windows when I can, which (by what you tell in your answer) rules out VMWare ESXi and Hyper-V. I will however look into other hyper-visors (XEN/others?). Is it only performance which is the issue, or are there other reasons not to us VirtualBox and the likes?

comment Deciding to use VM or native install for new hardware
I was thinking about standard ubuntu server installation, and installing virtualbox, because I know how to do all that. I could also easily share the virtual machine with my computer, so could easily take the machine away at any point and experiment with new features. I am very much open to suggestion though.

comment run zimbra on low spec virtual machine
This might be a way to go for evaluation, but I want to set up zimbra to work with 25 users - and this option only allows 10 users.
