comment Accessing Windows file share with many small files very slow over D-Link DES-1024 R+ switch
@zakharov any kind of unmanaged network gear used in a professional manner (especially with products like ESXi) is asking for trouble, whether you inherited it or not. We've all been there at some point, but it's your responsibility as a sysadmin to get the equipment replaced before any more issues arise.

comment set in all dns answer same IP adders plus real
Since this is a duplicate of askubuntu.com/questions/577953/ubuntu-dns-server I can tell you that you are looking in the wrong place. If you're in need of a transparent proxy then implement a proper transparent proxy. Don't start mucking around with DNS replies.

comment Deterministic load balancing
Are you actually saying that you've written your own HTTP server that can parse two different protocols on the same port? Or is this a fancy way of saying that you're encapsulating another protocol over HTTP?

comment Bridging two datacenters
There are many different ways of looking at expenses and returns.. I strongly recommend using a managed link between datacenters if possible (SLA, QoS, monitoring etc).

comment Build a IIS and SQL Server replicated cluster
@Mat No, FCI is for shared storage clusters. AlwaysOn can use a clustered SQL instance and provide AlwaysOn replication to another cluster or host (like a remote site). It still requires a enteprise license.

comment Build a IIS and SQL Server replicated cluster
@Mat Well, for SQL you could use AlwaysOn (SQL Enterprise License required), mirroring, log shipping, replication. Do you really need to keep IIS replicated? Can't you just deploy the web application to both servers when you release new updates?

comment Bridging two datacenters
I would strongly suggest that you take another call to your provider and ask for either a managed Multi-IPVPN (MPLS) or a 802.1ad (QinQ) link. It will make your life so much easier.

comment Rolling your own mongodb server with WebUI for admin?
Hire a sysadmin. Or use a hosted MongoDB service like compose.io. This question is off-topic for this site.

You're pasting the nginx config, yet you state that php-fpm is using all the system resources. Where do you think you need to do the tuning?
