comment Windows Server 2012: Add/Remove Programs?
Hit WinKey+X to get the Admin menu and easy access to the Control Panel. Otherwise you have to bring up the Charms bar (left edge of the screen or WinKey+C), select Settings, and then Control Panel.

comment Move IIS 7.5 FTP services from one server to another without recreating accounts
They are local accounts and I was able to copy from the administration.config to get the accounts from one server to the other (%windir%\system32\inetsrv\config\administration.config). I had to redo the mappings but I got the accounts and passwords so it was all good.

comment How do you live-migrate Hyper-V to Azure?
I thought that was Microsoft's Big new Thing (tm) with being able to live-migrate without shared storage as long as the Hyper-V host was Server 2012. In one of the Server 2012 Launch videos they showed migration to Azure but never touched on the plumbing to make it work.

comment Cable management between multiple racks
Learned this the hard way doing physical datacenter collapses (move multiple server rooms down to one big facility). started out doing a 48-port patch panel in each rack tied to a matching patch panel in a central coms rack. It is so much easier to drop a 48-port switch in the top of each rack and run a couple cables back to a central location. just remember to label the ports based on the rack for an easier time later on.

comment DNS on Active directory server and External DNS conflict
Good call on reminding about how to set DNS on the actual DNS server. I have forgotten before and used 127.0.0.1 (with multiple DNS servers) and ended up with DNS islanding.

comment Change IP of AD server to new subnet - keep clients IP
Out of curiosity will there still be a DC on the customer site? I am just thinking about login traffic being redirected over the VPN pipe. I just reread the question and it looks like you will be sending DNS traffic as well. Does the DC also do DHCP for the customer?

comment Network Design and Implementation
If you want to use multiple subnets with one switch you will need to implement VLANs to be able to separate the traffic. This gets complex in a hurry depending on everything else you need to do. I went through this using SonicWall firewalls recently and it is not hard, just time consuming. It helps to have a functioning network however and move things one subnet at a time. As @gravyface said you might want to start simple and change things out later.

Is the firewall providing DHCP or are you using Active Directory to do that? DNS could honestly be either the DHCP matters more because of the AD implementation.
