comment Is there a reliable online backup service?
I've used rsync.net myself and never had any trouble. They have a good attitude towards open standards and you transfer your files over ssh/sftp. They seem to have competent engineers and good storage technology on their side. They also recommend encryption of your data before backing it up (especially if you choose their server in the US).

comment Configure DD-WRT for multiple external IPs?
He is allowed by his ISP to allocate up to 4 IP addresses via DHCP (which is almost always the case in Sweden), the question is just if this is possible to do on the same machine (via virtual interfaces or something like that of course).

comment How to add a linux user with a random or invalid password from a script
You don't need to specify the home directory, shell or group name as they are all the default. Using just the command from my answer below (useradd --create-home <user>) you will achieve exactly the same results as your adduser-nopasswd script on most modern systems.

comment What is the difference of FreeBSD and Linux?
Although correct i general, there are two factual errors here. First, not only the BSD license allows redistribution for profit, the GPL (and many other F/OSS licenses). What the BSD license allows that the GPL does not is closed source redistribution. Also, to my knowledge (and I couldn't find anything on Wikipedia to say otherwise), the GPL does not require you to any send changes back to the original author.

comment what's a secure way to send passwords over the internet?
Asymmetric key encryption schemes like PGP/GPG are designed specifically so that you do NOT have to exchange your private keys. You exchange you public keys, which are called public because they should be just that, public. There is no need to hide your public keys, only your private ones.

comment Is it possible to have multiple authz files for a single subversion repository?
Some kind of scripted solution, probably with at database backend and reexporting of dependent files when groups change is our number two option, but multiple authz files would be more elegant (and easy to set).
