comment Memcached cache doesn't flush
What is the "this" you are trying to accomplish exactly? What is the problem you are trying to solve? The flush_all command doesn't remove anything from the cache. It just marks the entries invalid.

You won't know until you try. Look at the UDP traffic and see what you can figure out. What port is it to?

comment Minimum distance of backup data center from main data center?
It's a cost/benefit thing. There's no one right answer as the costs and benefits depend on the specifics of the situation.

comment explorer.exe eating all CPU, how to to detect culprit?
It's most likely a shell extension. You can use autoruns to identify all shell extensions.

The easiest way is to arrange to have your registrar do URL forwarding for you.

comment No internet on host OS (OS X Lion) when VMware Fusion is running
No. If you have the problem when connecting wired, it's not an issue of bridging to a client connection. A "client connection" is a type of WiFi link with an access point at the other end. It doesn't apply to wired connections -- assuming you're wired all the way (and not wired to some device that itself communicates by WiFi).

You can use autoruns to display shell extensions.

Sadly, some helpers gather all information even if it isn't displayed. Image thumbnail helpers are some of the worst offenders.
