comment How to determine JAVA_HOME on Debian/Ubuntu?
True, but I have encountered instances of Linux that had update-alternatives but did not have update-java-alternatives installed.

comment With what tool should I format a hard drive as UDF?
@skolima - What? That is like saying that you choose to raise Camels to generate milk without even considering Goats or Cows. There are way better file systems out there than UDF.

comment Import private key and certificate into Tomcat?
Have you tried downloading and installing 'KeystoreExplorer' ? Sometimes that will make harder cert jobs a little easier to visualize.

comment Java Deployment and Configuration (1.6.0_21)
Personally, I wouldn't install Java on the system. I would simply copy a JDK (not JRE) installed directory from another machine into C:\Java\JDK1.X.0_XX and then define JAVA_HOME and put JAVA_HOME/bin in the PATH. Then you don't need to worry about any JRE stuff that the JRE or JDK installed on the system.

My team is using Talend. I know it's a good option but I don't think its free.
