Hi Jalal did you ever find a solution to this problem? I'm seeing exactly the same thing (including no /etc/rc.d/init.d/ispconfig_server file and a /usr/local/ispconfig/server/server.sh that finishes immediately.

So in layman's terms is this what you saying: using exit 1; when there are no problems is a bit like Homer Simpson's "Everything is okay" alarm. It's not exactly wrong, but it's a bit quirky, and not what many people would want.

Handy command for seeing iptables-based access rules for a port: iptables -nL OUTPUT |grep 8080

It might be worth adding that Tomcat was installed correctly, and that it and Solr were working fine a few weeks ago. Then I found Tomcat and Solr had stopped, so I restarted it and also added an autostart script for Solr. Both seemed to work fine, no errors on either, but the same URLs that worked before now just time out. AFAIK nothing else has changed since then. Hope that helps. Any ideas, debugging tips, alternate log files to check... any clues are welcome.
