"I'm not questioning your powers of observation. I'm merely remarking upon the paradox of asking a masked man who he is." - V

Now, jokes aside, I'm a long time Perl aficionado, a hardcore W3C standards nut, a happy Javascript hacker and an occasional (and reluctant) Linux / OS X sysadmin. Former C++ junkie and C# exponent. Currently doing iOS and Mac development (and having loads of fun).

Program manager for a distributed learning platform at a startup.

Research interests include calendrical calculations, computational musical theory and natural language processing.

comment Why should I use a custom built memcached instead of Apple's Xcode version?
@Michael, thanks for rephrasing the question. You read my mind. That's was exactly what I wanted to ask.

I'm a developer without the luxury of having a sysadmin to figure this out for me. Got to do it myself. But at least with SF I get to ask some of the best sysadmins in the world for advice. My question was migrated from SO. I'm not sure why this question got down-voted though. It's not that I didn't do research before asking. Just saying.

comment How do I configure OS X's built-in Apache server to use FastCGI?
Yeah, Apple specific directories such as /Library/Perl/Updates/5.10.0/darwin-thread-multi-2level give me goosebumps. Took a while to realize their prupose.

OK, agree this is a SF question. I'm voting to move it there.
