Hire Me!

As of December 2013, I am looking to depart from my self-owned consultancy and go to work at an exciting, growing business that has truckloads of fun problems to solve.

Learn About Me!

I'm a generalist Systems Administrator. I design and implement systems that rely on Linux and Windows servers, wired and wireless networks, storage of all types, and insert_buzzword(); I like Chef and Ruby, but long walks on the beach get sand in my shoes and that's not okay.

My Gravatar is from Troy Snow's photography. Check him out at his Flickr page and tell him I sent you: http://www.flickr.com/photos/troysnow/ . Even though we tend to use the same goofy kitten face as an avatar, we are not the same person and have no affiliation. Other than good taste in avatars, anyway.

18 questions and 21% accept rate. You may have a hard time getting answers. Has it really been that so few people have provided a true answer to past queries?

I would sincerely like to find those people who differ on SPF being a good thing.

comment How do I monitor who's logged in?
@Voretaq7 Unfortunately, to my knowledge, AD does not store logoff information. The Last-Logoff attribute is where one would think to look. Twistedly, it is dormant. msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms676822(VS.85).aspx If you have the pitchforks, I've got the torches.

comment What is the canonical /portable means of determining ONLY the ip of an interface
@Dana Take note that it's usually a good thing to pre-empt the cries of "Dupe! DUPE!!" by listing out what other ServerFault / StackExchange Q/A threads you've looked at but discarded (and why you discarded them as not being pertinent).

Are you in IT department worker? Have you asked the SysAdmins for help? Have you talked to your manager?
