I just looked into the tcp splicing and that is really cool yeah if this is now a stable option it really maks no reason to have some fancy load balancer your paying for.

@sciurus i needed to do this for a few things like when i need to serve a staic file and the user sends me post data you proxy pass to the same machine but change the type to get in that proxy its not as effecant as we would like it to be but works.

for the type of cpu and memory on your machine i would look into having a 6 or 8 drive raid 10. to get a lot of perfomance if your gonna use raid 8 drives may wanna look into a raid 100
