comment PHP not working when accessed through a domain name, but works fine when accessed through IP
are you sure the dns entry resolves to that ip? try bash$ whois YOUR_DOMAIN_NAME to see which ip the dns entry resolves to. also, check to see you don't have another webserver running. i'm not sure if you have this set up via virutalhost or not, but make sure the ports are set to resolve to the appropriate webserver, in case you might have 2 running, but definitely a conf file would help

comment Another NGINX & PHP set up failure
yes, it's because short tags aren't implemented or turned on. also, i believe zend is moving away from short tags, though you have the option to turn it on.

comment Apache2 remove response headers
i have ServerTokens Prod and ServerSignature Off, so in my Header unset Server, i'm just trying to remove the whole header in the response. i was given specs to have a minimalist response header to lighten the responses.

comment Mounting an S3 bucket onto a AWS Ubuntu instance issues
i didn't mean to answer my own post, but this seemed to get the s3 mounted, though i could have swore i ran this command last night: "sudo /usr/bin/s3fs -o allow_other serverlogsbucket /mnt/s3/" there is an added slash on at the end of the mount. it could have been sleepy eyes that could have thought this command was run.
