I've gone through the steps to set up and install the redmine project tracking web app on my VPS with Apache2 but I'm running into a situation where instead of displaying the redmine app, I just see the directory contents:

Does anyone know what could be the problem? I'm not sure what other files might be of use to diagnose what's going on. Thanks!

  • whats your virtualhost container and apache configuration look like? Also you di start the server with passenger start from the redmine install directory correct? May 4, 2011 at 3:10

  • @haknick, I believe I installed Ruby on Rails properly during while following the instructions. Is there a command I can run to verify this? May 4, 2011 at 3:47
  • ls -l /var/www/redmine? Did you enable the passenger module sudo a2enmod passenger?

I use following redmine.conf file in apache2 which runs perfectly.

Do you have an .htaccess file? If so, please post its contents. If not, try updating the directory block in the vhost config:

Where is you Redmine installation? I'm unable to undestand if it is in /home/casey/public_html/app/redmine/ or /var/www/redmine.

Anyway, your DocumentRoot should point to /path/to/your/redmine/public
