I already went through all the answers, but I cannot make my VPN configuration work. My goal is this:
I want my client to connect to his win/remote disk via VPN from home, but allow him to connect without VPN while he is in the office (NAT 192.168.10.x). Currently, I use two domains: vpn.my-domain.com and office.my-domain.com. This works, but is unconfortable, because the client needs to have several disk units connected.
I use Mikrotik as a router and OpenVPN windows client. Here is the config:
client
dev tun
proto tcp
remote office.my-domain.com 1194
//// recently tried these lines - no difference
allow-pull-fqdn
route office.my-domain.com 255.255.255.255 net_gateway
route-nopull
//////
resolv-retry infinite
nobind
persist-key
persist-tun
remote-cert-tls server
cipher AES-256-CBC
auth sha1
auth-user-pass

Is it even possible considering DNS names caching in Windows?
