Updated our centos boxes to 7.8 yesterday and we started having an issue with a jabberd2 instance that serves as backend to a custom client.

After the updates, the jabber server began crashing intermittently with the following error:

Sun May 10 07:40:14 2020 [notice] [61] [ip-redacted, port=53539] error: SSL handshake error (error:140800FF:SSL routines:ssl3_accept:unknown state)

This error crashes the server out and will crash it every time the handshake error occurs. The clients hitting the server are a custom java based client that is more of a one way messaging service, we control all the client installs.

Any ideas are appreciated.

This is jabberd 2.6.1 from EPEL running on Cent 7.8
