I usually set for testing some internal mailservers(no use of external internet), with Sendmail and Postfix I have never problems. With Exim4 said my fake domain(domain.priv) is unroutable, but I can resolve it(i have a DNS internal). I have configured exim4 like this

dc_eximconfig_configtype='internet'
dc_other_hostnames='nas'
dc_local_interfaces='127.0.0.1 ; ::1; 192.168.0.3'
dc_readhost=''
dc_relay_domains='domain.priv'
dc_minimaldns='false'
dc_relay_nets=''
dc_smarthost=''
CFILEMODE='644'
dc_use_split_config='false'

when I send the emails on exim log appear this

2020-11-20 21:54:56 1kgDQm-0007ru-Iv <= myuser@nas.domain.priv U=myuser P=local S=384
2020-11-20 21:54:56 1kgDQm-0007ru-Iv ** myuser@nas.domain.priv: Unrouteable address
2020-11-20 21:54:56 1kgDQm-0007ry-Q2 <= <> R=1kgDQm-0007ru-Iv U=Debian-exim P=local S=1599
2020-11-20 21:54:56 1kgDQm-0007ru-Iv Completed
2020-11-20 21:54:57 1kgDQm-0007ry-Q2 => myuser <myuser@nas.domain.priv> R=local_user T=mail_spool
2020-11-20 21:54:57 1kgDQm-0007ry-Q2 Completed

Using dig and host resolv my internal domain.
