Scenario:

One database server (hosted in RDS) is running multipe databases within it.

Within server my-db-server:

  • customer
  • rpt
  • analyze-db

Goal:

  • Split the rpt database out of my-db-server and move it to a new server.

  • I need to know what resources to allocate to the new server. Need to analyze current memory, disk, and cpu usage "per database" so that a new server can be provisioned for rpt on its own.

My question to the community:

I can already easily monitor cpu/memory/disk usage for the entire server, but I need to see how much resources rpt database is using specifically. How can I do that?

Note: This db server is running in RDS, so I don't have direct access to the machine, but I have the resource monitoring tools available through RDS and within postgres itself.
