I am setting up a Mail Server using Postfix and Dovecot. Sending Mail works perfectly fine but receiving it doesn't work. When I use my GMail account to send emails t myself, I get this error: Recipient address rejected: User unknown in virtual alias table

My users are stored in a PostgreSQL table.

Here is my main.cf:

In case you have virtual alias map set correctly, just remove this line from your main.cf config:

myorigin = mydomain.com

the advice is from here: https://www.virtualmin.com/node/7746 I lost a ton of time trying to figure out why virtual users were not found.

  • Look at the URL I added above. Commented Aug 2, 2018 at 6:11
  • This actually helped me in the context of a missconfig with virtualmin.
