(I am a software developer) We are troubleshooting a bizarre issue. Our environment is multi-tenant with each tenant having their own app pool and each app pool has one site. For this issue the tenant is on one server. The code we run is the same across all tenants.

Now for the issue: The tenant is using our application and then the application seem to become unresponsive. They receive ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT for some web requests that happen periodically. The users refresh the page until the site starts responding, which is perhaps 10-60 seconds (I have not observed this issue first hand but this is what the users describe.) The app pool is not stopped or restarted when this happens. There are no errors in the event log. There are no event logs that indicate the app pool refreshed and all refreshing events are set to true for logging. There are no errors in the application logs. This issue occurs for the users both when they are at work (work PC) and when they are using the website at home (personal PC). When we are using the same site we are not kicked out of the site like they are.

I really do not understand how such an error can be thrown without the app pool or website going down.

"The tenant is using our application and then the application seem to become unresponsive. They receive ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT for some web requests that happen periodically." That's the typical hang issue, which if you know dump analysis can be troubleshot easily. If you are not capable of doing that, open a support case via support.microsoft.com or hire someone who can. – Lex Li Jun 27 '18 at 21:50
