I have a corruption problem on a PV (within a multipath, don't know if it matters). The base system is a CentOS 7 and the volumes are hooked up via iSCSI to an external storage.

I found the LVM UUID as well as the backup file but when I try to run pvcreate --uuid --restorefile it doesn't work:

# pvcreate --uuid "i0sfk1-OTGg-F0vR-IISi-W213-Mw3D-17etGU" --restorefile /etc/archive/perfVG2 /dev/mapper/MSA2050_PerfTier
Couldn't find device with uuid i0sfk1-OTGg-F0vR-IISi-W213-Mw3D-17etGU.
/dev/mapper/MSA2050_PerfTier: Checksum error at offset 18432
Couldn't read volume group metadata from /dev/mapper/MSA2050_PerfTier.
Metadata location on /dev/mapper/MSA2050_PerfTier at 18432 has invalid summary for VG.

Failed to scan VG from /dev/mapper/MSA2050_PerfTier

Maybe I could try running pvcreate with -ff flag but don't know if it's going to work and how risky it may be.

Other devices which exist on different storages are visible without problems.
