I'm looking for a way to get BSSID and ESSID of all open (not encrypted) wireless networks in my surroundings with a bash command. It would be even better, if could filter out networks with a too low link quality. It is important that not too much other information is there, because I want to use the data as input for another script.

I spent the last few hours looking for a solution, but I couldn't find one. The best I found so far were:

  • nmcli dev wifi: unfortunately does not include the BSSID
  • sudo iw wlp4s0 scan: cannot be filtered to display only open networks. Contains we too many information that is not relevant to me.

I'd appreciate any help
