In /etc/network/interfaces I have the following entry right now:

auto ens3
iface ens3 inet static
  address 123.12.123.123
  netmask 255.255.255.255
  broadcast 255.255.255.255
up route add -host 123.12.456.70 dev ens3
up ip route add default via 123.12.456.70

Now I want to use netplan on a ubuntu system. I started to writing this:

network:
  version: 2
  renderer: networkd
  ethernets:
    ens3:
      addresses:
        - 123.12.123.123/32

How do I do this with the lines starting with "up" (adding the route and set the default)?

  • check netplan.io/examples – anx Apr 12 at 16:43
  • Doesn't help me. – ChristophLSA Apr 15 at 12:01
  • In that case, you might want to edit your question to include the output of ip route show for both configs, so one can see the difference between your desired end state and what your attempt based on the examples did. – anx Apr 15 at 19:30
