I am running a PHP application which tracks the progress of files being downloaded. It works fine when on a normal EC2 instance; the user downloads the file piece by piece, and my application generates progress events as they go. However, when the EC2 instance is behind an ELB, the ELB seems to suck up the entire file quickly from the EC2 instance and then feed it to the user on the other side of the load balancer where I can't see how quick the transfer is going.

Is there any way to get ELB to go at the user's pace?
